For Partners (Vehicle Owners Listing on MOTOSHARE)

  • Verify the Renter’s driving license & ID proof.
  • Confirm the booking ID/receipt matches the person.
  • Record the odometer, fuel level, and vehicle condition at handover.
  • Keep a checklist (lights, brakes, tyres, documents, spare tyre, tools).
  • Ensure the vehicle has valid insurance (comprehensive preferred).
  • Keep GPS tracking enabled (recommended for safety).
  • Store a copy of the Renter’s documents for record (as per privacy guidelines).
  • Clearly mention dos and don’ts to the Renter (e.g., no smoking, no pets if applicable).
  • Hand over the vehicle with adequate fuel (usually full tank or as agreed).
  • Provide the vehicle in a clean and well-maintained condition.
  • Set clear expectations for fuel return policy (e.g., same-to-same).
  • Inspect thoroughly at return with the Renter present.
  • Compare with pickup photos.
  • Report damages immediately to MOTOSHARE support.
  • If necessary, claim from security deposit or insurance.
  • Always document everything (photos, signed checklist).
  • Communicate all rules beforehand (fuel, timing, mileage limits).
  • Use MOTOSHARE chat or official channels for clear records.
  • Avoid handing over vehicle without verification of Renter’s documents.
  • Example 1 (Renter Precaution): A Renter once picked up a bike without checking tyre pressure. Mid-trip, the tyre burst, causing delays. Always check tyres and brakes before riding.
  • Example 2 (Partner Precaution): A Partner handed over a car without taking photos. Later, dents were found, but there was no proof. Always take timestamped photos/videos at handover & return.
  • Example 3 (Shared Responsibility): A Renter returned a car late at night but forgot to refuel. Since there was no clear fuel policy, disputes arose. Always set and agree on fuel return policy upfront.

Quick Checklist for Partners

  • Verify Renter’s documents
  • Document vehicle condition (photos, checklist)
  • Ensure insurance & PUC valid
  • Set clear rules (fuel, timing, mileage)
